Kaylee Hottle, the young actress best known for her roles in Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, has died at the age of 18 following a car accident in Maryland.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by her father, Joshua Hottle, who spoke to TMZ and later shared an emotional video on Facebook using American Sign Language. In the video, he explained that he had traveled from Texas to Maryland after learning of his daughter’s death.
Joshua Hottle also revealed that Kaylee would be an organ donor, describing his daughter as “very, very smart” and “really kind.” Expressing both grief and pride, he signed, “I’m proud of my daughter.”
Fatal Crash in Maryland
According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland, the crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21. Authorities said Kaylee Hottle was one of two passengers in a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old man.
Investigators allege the driver was traveling at an excessive speed when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert. Emergency responders transported Hottle to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver survived the crash and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
